Remedy for Problems

Eyes on Aiken helps people either directly or as an intermediary with social service agencies. Sometimes we do both. We facilitate access to a wide variety of area public and private resources.

Eyes on Aiken pursues its mission working within its means. When we encounter someone in need of resources beyond our capacity, we connect that individual with one of our trusted partner organizations that can provide the necessary support. Likewise, when one of our partner organizations identifies that Eyes on Aiken is better suited to address a particular need, they may refer that individual to us.

Eyes on Aiken empowers people to improve their own well-being. We encourage them to be more engaged in their neighborhoods and in the greater community. Progress begins with individual improvement, spreads through our neighborhoods, and transforms the greater community.

Advocacy for Progress

We monitor City and County priorities and budget allocations to ensure that distressed neighborhoods are not ignored or neglected. We advocate for police patrols and safe environments.

We advocate for clean and safe schools serving low income families, and for modernization of school facilities and programs where needed. We advocate for fair and equitable treatment in student discipline and advancement opportunities.

We serve in complementary leadership roles, such as board membership with the Housing Authority and volunteer for the Aiken Homeless Coalition in helping to monitor the homeless count.
